Hokkaido Elm #74
SKU: #74
|
Overview
This Hokkaido Elm is over 20 years old (dated 1986). A local bonsai grower trained it from a cutting. The roots and bark show their age. Hokkaido Elms have the smallest leaves of all Chinese Elms and are extremely slow growing.
This elm has been in a pot its whole life and has been kept healthy through frequent watering and fertilizing. It hasn't had any root pruning to speak of. So, when you start working on the roots you will find large circling roots within the root ball. Each tree will be different. With some you may be able to remove all the heavy roots because there are plenty of shallow feeder roots. Others you may need to take a more patient approach, removing 1/3 to 1/2 of the heavy roots each year over a one to three year period. If you have any questions please call or email.
HxLxW: 19 x 12 x 10 inches (height from base of pot).
Trees ship Monday and Tuesday (Tuesday, only if they will reach their destination in 3 days)
