True Dwarf English Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens 'Suffruticosa')
Zones: USDA Zones 5-8.
Description: The dwarf English boxwood, an evergreen shrub, can get to around 3 feet tall. The small leaves are dark green on the top and light green on the underside and display a bronze casting in winter. About 10" tall.
Basic Care: Well-drained sandy loam is essential for boxwood growth, as they can suffer from root rot or root fungus in heavy clay soils. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Full sun to partial shade.
